Andrew Bernstein, DVM

Dr. Andrew Bernstein graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. He has been at the Aurora Veterinary Hospital since 2003 and is the owner. When not working, he enjoys canoeing, sailing, and walking with his wife, daughter, and dog.







Casey Sowell, DVM

Dr. Casey Sowell graduated from Washington State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Having worked for the Aurora Veterinary Hospital in 2003, his allegiance drew him back to rejoin the staff in early 2011. He enjoys traveling whenever the opportunity arises, though he is always content spending time exploring Seattle with his wife, two daughters, and dog (Finn).





Lara Kreyenhagen, DVM

Dr. Lara Kreyenhagen graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. After a year as a horse veterinarian she found her true calling as a small animal veterinarian. She joined Aurora Veterinary Hospital in 1998. In her free time she enjoys running, skiing, gardening and spending time with her husband and three children.






Lisa Newton, DVM

Dr. Lisa Newton joined the Aurora Veterinary Hospital the first time in 1986 and again after graduating from WSU Veterinary School in 1991. In her life, she can be found enjoying the great outdoors training for triathlons, and cross-country ski racing, gardening, singing in a choir, and being with her husband and two children. She owns two relatively insane cats, Ralph and Morocco.






Laura Smith, BVMS, MRCVS

Dr. Laura Smith, a Seattle native, graduated from the University of Glasgow, School of Veterinary Medicine in Scotland in 2009. She completed a general internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey in 2010, a specialty internship in small animal surgery at the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center in Texas in 2011 and a year of advanced training in small animal surgery at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatchewan, Canada in 2012. After many years away, she returned to the Pacific Northwest and worked as an Emergency Veterinarian at a busy 24 hour hospital on the Kitsap Peninsula. Dr. Smith first worked for the Aurora Veterinary Hospital in 2002 and 2003, and rejoined the practice in 2014. She loves to travel, spend time with her family, practice yoga, read mysteries and sing to her two amazing dogs (Oliver and Senta) and her magical cat (Trinton).




Kathryn Weinrauch, BVMS, MRCVS

Dr. Kathryn Weinrauch graduated from the University of Glasgow, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. She worked in a thriving small animal practice in England for the next two years. In 2007, she moved from the UK to Washington where she has been practicing ever since. She enjoys photography, gardening, and spending time with her dogs, two energetic children and husband.




The Staff



Lina Berona

Lina has a doctoral degree in Veterinary Medicine in her home country of the Philipines. She moved to the U.S. and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 1995. She enjoys working elbow to elbow with doctors and staff in all aspects of the veterinary field. Lina is also passionate about community service within the Filipino Community of Seattle and serves as senior vice president of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoys gardening, travel, and fishing. She currently lives in Kent with her husband, Mario, and daughter, Marilyn.




David Carson

David graduated from Pima Medical Institute in 2011 and is a Licensed Veterinary Technician. He is a feline enthusiast with an interest in feline behavior. After earning a BA in Anthropology in 2005, David moved to Seattle from Chico, California. He shares a home here with three cats and his daughter Rogue.








Rebecca Chadband

In 2002, Rebecca began her veterinary career working at a reproduction clinic in Los Angeles. Since moving to Seattle in 2005, she has had the pleasure of working at Aurora Veterinary Hospital. When not at work, Rebecca can be seen in the AKC conformation show ring with her English Bulldogs. She likes spending her free time with husband Joel and daughter Beatrice, either dancing, gardening, or enjoying sports. Go Broncos!





Milly Ellenberger

Milly moved to Seattle in the winter of 2010 from Atlanta, Georgia, where she worked for the past 5 years in a veterinary hospital. She hails from the great state of Maine. Milly enjoys exploring the outdoors, gardening, and cooking unique dishes. In her free time, she can be found in her garage workshop designing and soldering jewelry. Milly shares a home with her Dutch rabbit, Victor.





Jenn Fitzpatrick

Jenn started working in the veterinary field as a receptionist in 2006 at a clinic in Southern California, where she was born and raised. She recently moved to the Seattle area in November of 2014 and began working for Aurora Veterinary Hospital that same month as a receptionist. On her days off, she enjoys spending time with her husband, riding bicycles, hiking, and exploring the amazing city of Seattle and the surrounding cities. She also shares her home with a beautiful Tortie kitty named Karma.






Marcia Ingolfsland

Marcia is a Licensed Veterinary Technician with a Bachelor’s degree in biology. She moved to Washington from North Dakota in 2003 and has volunteered and fostered for multiple rescue organizations since. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Marcia shares her home with a farm-cat from North Dakota and a shepherd mix from a local shelter.







Sue Murphy

Sue has been employed at Aurora Vet since 1991. She also works part time doing book work for her family owned plant and lighting store. She has three dogs (Brie, Hanna, and Penny), two cats (Speedy and Queso), and a show horse (Patrick). She is very active showing her horse on the Quarter Horse circuit. Sue is married with a teenage son and daughter. She enjoys camping, hiking, traveling to destinations such as Fiji, and white water rafting through the Grand Canyon.





Jessica Pearce

Jessica was born and raised in Seattle Washington. Prior to working at the Aurora Veterinary Hospital, she has worked in a variety of preschools, but she always knew she had a passion for animals. She graduated from Pima Medical Institute in Spring of 2012 as a veterinary assistant. Outside of work, she loves traveling and spending time with her family and two cats, Panther and Tiger.








Hannah Sheridan

Hannah has been in the veterinary industry since 2004 and it's one of the things she is most passionate about. Outside of work, she loves the Seattle Sounders, jigsaw puzzles, spending time with the loves of her life, her kitties Domino, Lyra, and Sparta and boyfriend, Jacob. Go Sounders!





Scott Swanson

Scott has worked with all types of animals from elephants to tiny poison dart frogs. He joined the Aurora Veterinary Hospital team in February of 1989. Scott is an avid motorcyclist and can often be found with his wife at one of Seattle's many dog parks playing with their dog.
